A specific aim for character writing
A character can have a detailed background yet still answer every prompt in the same stiff voice. Our aim is more varied, expressive dialogue that fits a fictional scene. That is an aim for the writing, not a claim that the model feels emotions or understands a person as another human would.
Zlinga is the creator’s public nickname. ZlingaLora is an independent community project rather than a separate company providing hosted chats. The modification and the application you use to run a conversation are different things.
What a LoRA adapter actually changes
LoRA stands for low-rank adaptation. An adapter supplies a relatively small set of learned adjustments for a compatible base model; it does not replace that model with a new chat application. The method is described in the original LoRA research paper.
The base model still matters. So do the character description, conversation context, prompt format and generation settings. An adapter can influence an answer’s style, but it does not guarantee the same result across different models or setups.
It also does not supply an account system, a payment service, voice calls or a video avatar. Those are separate parts of an application. Saved conversation history is handled by the software around the model, not by the project name.
Writing a character, not creating a person
In roleplay, a useful response might stay with the scene, distinguish one character’s voice from another and leave you room to act. Longer prose is not automatically better dialogue. Neither is a reply that agrees with everything you say or resolves the whole story for you.
Expressive writing can feel personal while still being generated. A fictional character does not have feelings, a life outside the conversation or a human relationship with the reader. AI can also repeat itself, lose details and invent information. Our purpose is creative use, not therapy or expert advice.
Using the project with other software
A chat interface and the model answering behind it are not always the same system. Before trying an adapter, check the release documentation for the required base model and the runtime that loads it. A platform name alone is not enough to establish compatibility.
A mention of JanitorAI or another roleplay platform does not establish an official integration, endorsement or partnership. Nor does it mean an adapter can be uploaded directly to that service. Check the service’s current documentation alongside the instructions for the actual release.
The licence matters too. Being a community project does not, on its own, determine permission to redistribute model files or use them commercially. Read the licence attached to the adapter and the applicable base-model terms.
What the illustrations mean
Our character portraits are generated illustrations, not photographs of people offering to chat. They are also not evidence that a text adapter can generate pictures. Browsing one does not open a live conversation or create an account.
This website is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Keep roleplay characters unambiguously adult and respect other people’s privacy and likeness. Fiction is not a reason to impersonate someone or use their intimate images without permission.
